March 7th I took the Sunuwars home after church. THANKS to the Brocksmiths for taking Heather home for me. We live in Duluth right near Rogers Bridge Road, the subdivision right across from the Franzens and Gayle. I can only take the Sunwars home in the large car...and I forgot to leave the key to the small car home for my husband, Fran. This is why Heather didn't have a ride home :/ Thanks again, Brocksmith Family!

Something really fabulous happened right after church. Well, as Carolyn said, the Sunuwars are evangelizing :) So, this week they brought an 11 year old Bhutanese neighbor with them. He looks like he's 5 or 6 yo, but he's 11 yo, and in 4th grade!
As we were all heading toward the car, I thought it would be fun for the little boy to play on the new playground in the church's back yard. I said to the boy that he could play on the equipment for a few minutes. I think he's probably played on a playground in school, but this was the FIRST TIME the Sunuwars had ever played on playground equipment. I demonstrated how to walk up the big ramp, slide down the sliding board...Menuka (mom) slid down the little baby sliding board. The 'big' one was daunting at first. About 10 minutes later, she graduated to the 'big' playground. Yuba (It was Yuba there today, right?), Tara, Menuka, the little boy and I played like KIDS for about 35 minutes. The whole family loved the swings!! I wish I had a decent camera with me...I'll bring mine next time. I believe this may have been the first time any of them had been on a swing.
Several times, Tara said with a smile, "I am happy." The others did, too, several times. I told them that I was so happy that they were happy...and that they could come back again an play more on another day.
Tibor tried to go on the monkey bars, but there are too small for him. It was even too small for the 11 yo.
Their excitement matched that of an American kid's excitement after a day at a carnival or Six Flags.
They told me they'd like to go to a park near their home. I think we should look into that. I didn't see any on the way home.
The park around the corner in Old Norcross, with the playground equipment, bathrooms, tables, pavillion...didn't we consider having an event there? They'd LOVE it there. I thought that maybe one time after church, the 'take home driver' could bring a picnic lunch to the Norcross park, something very simple..PBJ sandwiches, juice boxes. Play for a half hour, eat lunch, then drive them home. This simple event would be very exciting to them.
I just wanted to share my wonderful experience that I had with the Sunuwars...who's blessing whom? The blessing is mutual, for sure.
Dana,

I can take the Sunuwar family home next Sunday, March 14th.
